SparkFun's Kickstarter campaign runs from Nov. 20 to Dec. 19 with a goal of raising at least $150,000 to cover the cost of transportation, equipment and staff for a 50-state education tour.

SparkFun, founded in 2003, manufactures more than 1,800 products designed to help users explore the world of electronics.

SparkFun's Department of Education is seeking to build on the success of two coastal education tours conducted in 2012, the company said.

The tour will bring a mobile education unit to each state with training, tools and information for both educators and students. The tour will provide a full day of instruction at each stop and a special edition of the SparkFun Inventor's Kit Lab Pack to facilitate electronics education at every skill level.
